Once she knows that a design is working, Hevesh begins by placing the biggest 3-D sections first. She then adds flat arrangements and finally lines of dominoes that connect the sections. She always starts with the hardest pieces first, and she nudges each domino into its proper position before pushing on it. This gives the domino time to convert its potential energy into kinetic energy, which is then transmitted to the next domino as it falls.
